Of course I learned many "things" and some of it was fun!
I do see the value in learning about and understanding new uses for technology and I am happy to know popular sites that library patrons will talk about and use. I realize that all of these sites will change constantly and so if I do not visit them often, I will fall behind in my level of knowledge
I didn't enjoy signing up for new accounts. (Really I didn't enjoy trying to remember the user name and password until I gave up and just used the same ones over and over!!) The most frustrating Thing was #21 podcasts which were a problem because the computer I used had no software loaded for audio--who knew!! Finally I was listening to a podcast about customer service and web 2.0 and I kept interrupting myself to do customer service. Crazy but true!
It was hard to complete Learning 2.0 at work when so many other projects take my attention away from the 23 things. In the end my staff all finished before me but that is probably very appropriate.
I will participate if another discovery course is presented.

Thing 21
Definitely smodcasts for me! I spent several hours on this one and finally discovered I was using a computer without the correct listening software. Thanks to my helpful coworker I finally did listen to a podcast relating to customer service and web 2.0.
Thing 15
I think I like the article best about Library 4.0 using all of the technology but ending with a cosy human atmosphere honoring the communication and collaboration between human users!

Thing 14
Apparently I tried to access technorati on a day when they crashed! Anyway I got in today and looked around a bit. Few blogs, more posts, and many more tags on Learning 2.0 or web 2.0. I saw several other library systems were in the same process and found a post that was new on the 23 things right when I got there. Interesting.

Thing 22
I created the Netlibrary account for myself and looked for something I might like to listen to-- but I don't really enjoy listening to books--I'd rather read! I was surprised that several popular authors I chose were not listed so I just picked a title I saw. After I finish, I will try to load it on my MP3 player . Good to know how when I try to explain it to a patron!

Thing 20
In a sentimental moment I entered the name of my Mom's hometown and found a video clip of a walk she took many times in her young life. Amazing! Not the prettiest clip but amazing to find it just the same! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSuWgOlmFIo
Thing 19
There certainly is "so much to explore" that it could while away a full day of wandering in PCland. Fortunately (maybe!) many sites were unavailable tonight so I didn't get too lost in the web tangle.
Thing 18
If I had online access other than at work these apps may be quite useful as it is my life outside the library is quite low tech. The software at work is accepted universally and so I use Office suite. I can see that group projects could be much easier and less paper would be needed in my life....

Thing 16
I love Bull Run Library's wiki and wish we had one that was similar. I think I read some post on askaway about a wiki with procedures for LCPL. That sounds really interesting. i discovered Newsvine and some different social networking wikis that seemed interesting too.
Thing 13
I can see that it would be interesting to follow the many connections created by these tags. A new way to find people interested in the same topics or related topics.

Thing 12: Rollyo
I guess I'm back at the Learning 2.0 process after a long hiatus of too much to do! Here's my Rollyo http://rollyo.com/swhetzel/road_home/
